I wanna be the girl with the je ne sais quoi.

When I walk by they will say ooh la la.

This weekend while tossing back my Saturday night vodka tonics

the bf & I discussed which good looking celebrity we would want to be.

This discussion was sparked by watching Tombstone at the bar we were at &

noticing how Val Kilmer used to be so much more attractive than he is now.

(10 yrs ago = normal dude, today = bloated baby hippo. it's really sad)

I know, strange scenario right?

Anyways the bf said George Clooney.

I scoffed. 

"Ugh, how cliche of you to want to be the sexiest man alive" lol

After much harrasment about his choice, he changed it to some other stereotypically sexy man.

*I can't remember who because this was several more vodka t's in. I have no shame about this :)

I on the other hand said I would want to be someone like Eva Green.

I think she is tremendously sexy, but I cant really tell you why.

She is not the prettiest, nor does she have the craziest body, part of me sometimes even thinks she is unattractive.

but something about her is just so appealing.

and so I want that, that je ne sais quoi.

That little something that is timeless & ageless.

That transcends beauty.

So new goal, figure out how to acquire the the undefinable. Shouldn't be too hard right?

Who pray tell, would you be, in your wildest dreams?

When I said drink of the week, I meant drink of the century. I may or may not explore other drinks on this site, but I promise I will continue to refer to this one.  It is. . . .the coconut. . . mojito. AKA Cocojito.

I discovered this little ditty at the Blue Agave in Santa Barbara where I celebrated my college graduation.  They do say that as one door closes, another opens.  So my eyes were opened wide when I took the first sip of this heavenly concoction. 

My boyfriend said to me this weekend, as I sucked down the last little lingering droplets, "Why must that drink be so good?!"

I said, "What do you mean"

He raised his pinkie. 

"What, the glass is too big & it hurts your pinkies to hold it?"

"No" Eye roll

"Then what?"

"I love it, but I can never order it because its too girly"

I proceeded to laugh as I hoarded this effeminate yummy-ness to myself

It's so good, it needs a disguise when it goes out in public.

It's so good, it's rumored that it's the lovechild of Chuck Norris & Chiquita Banana.

Like the Dos Equis guy, it lives vicariously through itself.

Please try making it. Or if you just can't wait, head over to your local bar & order it.

In attempt to maintain the small amount of sanity I can claim on a normal basis, I've been transporting myself on a mental vacay to May 10 2010

On this day I'm on a beach somewhere, sipping some deliciously tropical drink filled

with the most fattening  best ingredient known to man: cream.

I'm in a little cafe somewhere

drinking a bottle of Syrah & indulging in some garlic pasta.

I do not care that my breath is now smelly.

I'm nibbling on guacamole & inhaling margaritas.

The mariachis are my new bffs.

I'm enjoying cocojitos.

I'm wearing an adult tutu & popping some bubbly.

I am actually hoping to pull off a vacation

beginning of June.

Even if its not a European holiday.

I need some suggestions of some places to go.

What was your favorite vacation?

Nothing too extravagant, but I want to get out of the states

Or I could do the U.S., if you had a blast somewhere stateside

and not Mexico! lol I've been there too many times.

I stopped by our local celebration last Saturday

It was fun.

The usual hula-hoopers and hackey-sackers

Haha I can't help it, I've been working on headbands way too much.

I love everything about this image.

I want to go home and throw confetti on my floor & scream nonsensical celebratory statements at the top of my lungs. Such as:

Yippee. Woohoo. Cowabunga.

Just to scare the bf.

And make him give me that funny look that gives me butterflies.

That says "Wow you are a crazy lady, but you are my crazy lady & I love you"

It could also just be "Wow wtf have I gotten myself into"

but whatevs, it's Thrusday, that's just how I do.

Plus I really really love this chair.

I Think I Can, I Think I Can . . .

I am clinging to this quote right now.

At my work, our biggest annual fundraising event is coming up in May.

So it's getting a little hairy here.

And, one day after the event is the street fair I'm participating in.

So you could say my I'm a bit overwhelmed.

I miss posting every day! and I miss catching up on all your great stories & posts.

Soon enough.

A social worker with our organization once explained to me the process of visualization.

Just picturing a situation the way you would like it to be

and sending positive energy into the universe for it to happen.

Meditating on the issue.

Kind of like praying.

I did that with the apartment I'm living in now.

In a way you could say "it worked" because we really wanted it & the odds were against us.

But whether or not it was a factor, it was a nice calming practice

So for the next few weeks I'll be visualizing

our booth at the fair filled with customers

all who find my hairclips & headbands irresistable

Our fundraising event going smoothly

and a long vacation afterwards.

On another note, the bf may be going to Europe for work.

Which I've been being a real bitter betty about, since I've never been and he has

and I am more interested in history and culture than him by 100x etc etc etc.

Well, now I'm worried for him because of the volcano and the possibility of further eruptions.

& I was going to try to scrounge up enough money for me to join him on a little vacay after.

So now, I will also be visualizing us both.

Sipping wine at some cafe in Italy

Safe from volcanoes & ash.

& just having a really great relaxing time.
