Nothing like a big pink pony  to get your weekend started!

While I try to reserve my weekends for friends & family I may break down and do a post or two
(did I mention I also have a blogging problem? Seriously why are rehabs only for celebrities with nefarious addictions?!)
So I may be seeing you around. If not have a fabulous indulgence-filled, possibly booze fueled weekend.
I know mine will be.

Foray into Online Shopping

Recently I was introduced to a dangerous new drug. The high is great. The lows are low. The withdrawls are downright painful. The addiction is immediate and when your in the midst of it, you are willing to sacrifice your first born child to get more of it.

Now don't go planning an intervention for me, I want this. I have discovered the joys of online shopping (particularly private sale site shopping) and there's no going back for me.  I'm committed. It's not really a past time anymore, its a lifestyle.  And holy hee-haw do I love it.

I thought I'd post some recent steals for you to be jealous of enjoy. Please check out Beautyticket.com where I got the shadows, and Macy's online sales are consistent and great.  I also suggest looking into private sale sites as they rock! (My first order will be arriving soon and I'll post once I'm sure it's all good :)

Saw it in the store for $79.99. Waited until it went on sale on the Macy's website to $39.99. Used the rest of my gift card and only paid $19.99 out of pocket. YES!

Beautyticket.com $29.99. Eye brushes from Rite-Aid are like $10 alone so I was super excited by this!
It arrived packed with cute pink squiggly papers for safety.  One shadow (not shown) was broken (the shadow itself had crumbled the container is great).  I didn't really feel like dealing with a return as its still totally usable and I was happy overall.

I'm expecting my Sandra Suy print and some Lorac shadow & lipstick from Hautelook.com. I will update with the latest outcome of my newest addiction!

Red Velvet.

Sometimes I come home to find surprises.
Like we ran out of toilet paper and I just went grocery shopping.
Or I forgot to record my favorite show.
But sometimes I come home to red velvet cupcakes.
This one was so good.
Make them.

Starstruck

You remember back before MySpace was the aging starlet it is today, before it was just one step away from being featured on To Catch a Predator?  They had those little cartoon emoticons so you could show everyone your mood.  They were always extremely lacking, like how can a little animated face describe the way I feel after working 40hrs and getting in a fight with my mom? The answer is it can't. I'm way too complex for your emoticons MySpace.

Anywhoo today I received a reply from my favorite new illustrator Sandra Suy and I wish I could post a big smiley emoticon everywhere!  I emailed her about a month ago to request a certain print and to ask permission to use her image on my blog. After the first week I was sad at the silence, but not surprised.  I mean this woman is great and my requests were basically pittance. Um, please pretty lady, may I use your fancy image on my little blogey-thing?

Well my frown has been turned upside down by her response today. She was so nice. She said the illustration I had seen elsewhere but not at her Etsy store for sale could be printed for me.  She also gave me permission to use the image on my blog, which you now see above. Woohoo! So again everyone head over to Etsy and buy her stuff. She is great. Maybe there's hope for Tuesdays after all.

Tuesday Morning Product Indulgence

It's Tuesday.  A day known only for its amazing ability to be worse than a Monday.  The relaxation of the previous weekend has worn off with the buzz of your Monday morning coffee, but you are really no closer to your next day of rest. Wednesday you can comfort yourself that it's halfway over. Thursday and Friday just fly on by. But Tuesday. Blegh.

It's funny in college I had no concept of days or weeks really.  Time was a much more fluid thing. I'm eating breakfast at 2 o'clock on a Wednesday? Totally. I'm sleeping at 11 a.m. on Friday? Of course! And actually there was no sacred Friday as an employed person knows it to be. Thursday night began our weekends. Friday was my extra Saturday.

Now I live a much more structured lifestyle. While the monetary compensation I receive comforts me in this regard, sometimes I do just want to break free!

Instead I bought these candles. I thought I would share them with you in hopes that they might cheer you up this dreary Tuesday morn.

They are actually really cool, they are soy and so they melt at a much cooler temperature. I dipped my finger in the pool as it was burning and its not hot. Also since they are soy apparently you can use the meltings as a moisturizer.

I bought the Vanilla Orange and it was literally like rubbing a creamsicle on my hands. Yum!
Check out SOI candles online and enjoy this worst of days. :)
