Mixology: What to Drink & Dance-to for the Holidays

Right now I'm sitting on my couch, semi-coherently listening to Brazilian Girls and downing a nice Vodka (Diet) Coke, and I love blame the internet.

Let me begin with a little cautionary tale of how I ended up here. . .

It's almost the holidays and I'm engaged.
This can mean only one thing:

I'm exhausted.

Actually being engaged is pretty comparable to celebrating a big holiday like Thanksgiving or Christmas.
For one, it's fun! It makes you inherently happier in the morning when you wake up, you find yourself smiling for no particular reason, you hum a few more tunes than usual.
You get dressed up! You have celebratory dinners, you get your engagement pictures taken, you commemorate things left and right.

You toast life more than you ever have before. You make fun decisions on things like outfits, and rentals, small-bites and the bigger ones too. Color schemes and china and

. . .

I have absolutely no room left for the normal decisions in life. Like what to cook for Thanksgiving. Or the solutions to the varied conundrums that inevitably interfere with my Norman Rockwell holiday fantasies.

So when I saw this website on Design Crush that tells you what tasty adult beverage to serve up with specific tunes, I about died. Music = Yes. Drinking = Yes. ONE LESS DECISION TO MAKE?

Amazeballs.

P.S. Apparently Billy Joel is synonymous with Miller High Life beer. PRICELESS lol

T.G.I.F.

I've come to find that blogging really highlights all of my character flaws. And I do not appreciate it! lol
For example, after our fair adventures I was supposed to take a bunch of pictures of my clips & post them to etsy & plan a giveaway and notify all you lovely ladies and. . .
the list goes on.
Things I am supposed to do but don't ever get around to.
I fear my gravestone will read "Rachel, the girl who never got around to it" :)
Then I get embarrassed because as I said my shortcomings are on display, for all you readers to read and noticers to notice!
I'm sure at this point you are shaking your head, thinking to yourself "Geez Rachel we all have lives, we don't have the time to notice that kind of crap" (at least I am hoping this is what you are thinking lol)
But maybe this forced self-reflection is a good thing, because I'm sure I could use some accountability in my life.
Whatever happened to the good old days where my mom checked my homework for me?
Oh well it's Friday and although no one checks my homework anymore, no one checks my drinking habits either. Which means they are free to do as they please!
Cheers to the freedoms of adulthood & happy Friday everyone.
I love this image below  by Manuel Rebollo. It puts me in such a Friday mood :) Check him out he is awesome.

Drink of the Week

When I said drink of the week, I meant drink of the century. I may or may not explore other drinks on this site, but I promise I will continue to refer to this one.  It is. . . .the coconut. . . mojito. AKA Cocojito.
I discovered this little ditty at the Blue Agave in Santa Barbara where I celebrated my college graduation.  They do say that as one door closes, another opens.  So my eyes were opened wide when I took the first sip of this heavenly concoction.
My boyfriend said to me this weekend, as I sucked down the last little lingering droplets, "Why must that drink be so good?!"
I said, "What do you mean"
He raised his pinkie.
"What, the glass is too big & it hurts your pinkies to hold it?"
"No" Eye roll
"Then what?"
"I love it, but I can never order it because its too girly"
I proceeded to laugh as I hoarded this effeminate yummy-ness to myself
It's so good, it needs a disguise when it goes out in public.
It's so good, it's rumored that it's the lovechild of Chuck Norris & Chiquita Banana.
Like the Dos Equis guy, it lives vicariously through itself.
Please try making it. Or if you just can't wait, head over to your local bar & order it.
I promise you it will change your life.
It has for every person it's met on Eharmony.

Google AdSense Oh How You Vex Me

Just need to express my frustration with Google AdSense.
Apparently my 'big pink pony' post where I mentioned the possibility of a booze-fueled weekend,
caused AdSense to think that I have a drinking problem
and advertise drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers.
Don't you judge me AdSense.
I'm a social drinker
and a free thinker.
Stop trying to pigeon-hole me
you stupid computer thing.
Now for my morning tequila shot.
lol
